Łodź goes choco loco

Barry Callebaut, a leading chocolate manufacturer, opened another production line in Łodź.

Łodź is home to the largest chocolate factory in Poland. Its owner is the tycoon, Barry Callebaut. The company is currently expanding its Łodź plant. The new hall has an area of more than 3,000 sq m.

Innovative technological solutions were used in the design of line number 9, which made it possible to increase production capacity by 26,000 tons per year.

“In the new production hall, we installed a heat pump that uses energy recovery from the process, and applied automated data management in line with the Factory of the Future ideology. Together with digitalization and warehouse space and in the form of land, the factory in Łodź has great potential for further investment and growth in its industry. Last year, our chocolate trucks traveled more than 4,460,273 kilometers across Europe, which translates into 111 laps of the globe, and the appetite for chocolate is only growing every year,” Barry Callebaut representatives say.

The expansion of the Barry Callebaut Group chocolate factory in Łodź is a significant milestone. As Poland’s largest and Europe’s second-largest player in the chocolate industry, the modern facility has potential for further growth, the representatives say.
