Million-dollar investment in the Port of Szczecin

Windar Renovables will build a factory in the port of Szczecin

In the first half of 2026, the port of Szczecin will open a production facility that will manufacture wind turbine components (towers and foundations) for offshore and onshore wind farms. The manufactured elements will be transported, inter alia, by sea.

The contract for the lease of the port area has just been signed by the Szczecin and Swinoujscie Seaports Authority (Zarząd Morskich Portów Szczecin i Świnoujście SA) and the leader in the offshore industry, the Spanish company Windar Renovables, operating in Poland through its subsidiary Windar Polska spółka z o.o.. At the beginning of October last year, the parties signed a preliminary lease agreement.

The production facility will be built on an approximately 17-hectare site located in the Debicki Canal area of the Port of Szczecin. It will eventually employ more than 400 people. The value of the Spanish company’s investment will be around 70 million euros.

After the installation terminal for offshore wind farms in the port of Swinoujscie, this is another project in the Szczecin-Swinoujscie port complex related to renewable energy sources. (Monika Woźniak-Lewandowska, photo: Piotr Sikora, 16.01.2024)
