Bon appétit!
A cinematic feast for both – visual art lovers and enthusiasts of fine cuisine. A Vietnamese-French director and screenwriter – Tran Anh Hung (Best Director award at Cannes Film Festival 2023) invites viewers to a sensual world, where passion has a taste and even the deepest feelings can be expressed through flavors and aromas. The film is set in the second half of the 19th century and tells a story of a cook Eugénie (Juliette Binoche) and the famous gourmet and gastronome Dodin (Benoît Magimel), who have been cooking together, creating recipes and throwing great parties for 20 years. However, they do share so much more than a long culinary history… Tran Anh Hung adapted Marcel Rouff’s novel “La Vie et la Passion de Dodin-Bouffant, gourmet” and inspired by the famous Anthelme Brillat-Savarin created perfect combination of romance and poetic culinary cinema. ‘The Taste of Things’ in cinemas on August 30.
