The European Financial Congress

The European Financial Congress (EFC), established in 2011, has grown into one of Europe’s premier platforms for discussions on financial security, economic stability, and long-term growth. Held annually in the picturesque coastal city of Sopot, the Congress attracts over 2,000 participants, including European and national policymakers, business leaders, academics, regulators, and media representatives. Over its 12 editions, more than 20,000 attendees have participated in over 500 debates, underscoring the EFC’s pivotal role in shaping Europe’s economic landscape.

A defining feature of the Congress is its pragmatic approach to tackling challenges. The EFC not only identifies pressing economic issues but also delivers actionable recommendations aimed at enhancing the financial stability and economic resilience of the European Union and its Member States. These recommendations, developed through year-round collaboration with experts and thematic committees, culminate in the publication of strategic guidance each June. To date, over 100 recommendations have been issued, covering areas such as financial sector safety, innovation financing, reindustrialization, and domestic savings accumulation.

Beyond the main event, the EFC hosts a series of specialized congresses and seminars throughout the year, addressing topics like risk management, IT in finance, retail banking, and corporate finance. The Congress also actively participates in global consultations led by institutions like the Financial Stability Board and the European Commission, involving Polish experts to shape international policy discussions.

The EFC stands as a cornerstone of Europe’s financial dialogue, combining robust analysis with practical solutions to drive progress in a rapidly evolving economic landscape. Held every June, this event not only reflects on the challenges of the past year but also sets a forward-looking agenda for economic growth and innovation across Europe.
