Baltic Ports Prosperity

The main Polish Baltic ports ended 2024 with record-breaking annual net profit growths: Gdańsk by 24%, Gdynia by 32% and Szczecin-Świnoujście by 23%. Total volume of their container operations also grew by 9%. Now all of them carry out intensive works to expand their infrastructures. The biggest changes are expected in Świnoujście with construction of the Deep Water Container Terminal to handle the biggest Asian container ships from 2028. Gdańsk is building a new grain terminal of large loading capacity and is continuing construction of Baltic Hub T3 container terminal. Gdynia is working on construction of the External Port. There are also plans to deepen the seaway to Elbląg port and to construct the seaway connecting Vistula Lagoon with Gdańsk Bay. All the investments in the Polish marine industry in 2025 are to cost zł 2 billion ($ 500 million).
