The Iron Claw

Sean Durkin, an independent film director and producer known from the critically acclaimed “Martha Marcy May Marlene” and “The Nest”, comes back with a new story about great ambition, triumph and family curse. Based on true events, “The Iron Claw” is a saga of the Von Erich family, led by a strict and determined Texan father, dedicated to ensuring that his sons achieve in sports what he himself couldn’t. The story of the Von Erich brothers gives an insight into the sources of their invincibility in the wrestling ring and deals with the bitter reality of the American dream. Love, brotherly rivalry and spectacular success mix with brutal training sessions, broken characters, shattered hopes and strained relationships. Parental ambition turns into a curse for children, who are the ones to pay the price, when their family transforms into a profit-driven corporation. Spectacular cinema with strong psychological motifs starring Zac Efron, Harris Dickinson and Jeremy Allen White. In theaters from February 16.
