Christmas Markets

From the beginning of December, the holiday season is already in full swing and in all major Polish cities, visitors can enjoy what’s best in the Christmas market tradition. Caroling, open-air concerts and performances, local craft works and delicacies, mulled wine, gingerbread and chocolate, Ferris wheels, carousels and pyramids – all accompanied by cheerful and spectacular Christmas illuminations and decorations. The Christmas market in Wrocław serves mulled wine and chocolate in its traditional ceramic shoe mugs and the youngest have a chance to meet the city’s friendly Dwarf Prezentuś. In Toruń visitors participate in gingerbread baking workshops. Warsaw’s Royal Route leading to the Castle Square with the capital’s Christmas tree is beautifully luminous and the ice rink in the Old Town Market has welcomed the first ice skaters. Kraków delights with the fairy tale scenery of its Christmas market in the UNESCO-listed Old Town. The Christmas markets will be open until: in Gdańsk – December 23, Katowice – January 5, Kraków – January 1, Poznań – January 6, Szczecin – December 22, Toruń – December 22, Warsaw – January 6, Wrocław – January 7.
