The Girl with The Needle

11 awards at the Gdynia Film Festival, a nomination for Oscar, the Golden Frog at the EnergaCamerimage festival and 2 European Film Awards – these are just some of the most important awards for the Polish-Danish-Swedish co-production by Magnus von Horn. “The Girl with the Needle”, a masterfully constructed psychological thriller that looks into the darkest corners of the human soul, is set in post-World War I Copenhagen, where a young factory worker, Karoline, gets pregnant and ends up on the street overnight. She meets the charismatic owner of an illegal adoption agency, who offers her shelter and work, and finds herself in the middle of mysterious events. Will the relationship between women initially based on trust, survive the confrontation with dark secrets? Karoline will be forced to find the answer to the question about the boundaries between the good and evil. The production was co-created by outstanding Polish filmmakers such as cinematographer Michał Dymek (“IO”,”Sweat”), the editor Agnieszka Glińska (“Silent Twins”, “IO”), set designer Jagna Dobesz (“My Wonderful Life”, “Silent Twins”) and costume designer Małgorzata Fudala (“Sweat”, “A Real Pain”). The Girl with the Needle” in cinemas on January 17.
