LIL UZI VERT

The Philadelphia rapper became known to a wider audience after the release of his mixtape ‘Luv Is Rage’. The positive reception of the tape and collaborations with artists such as Young Thug, A$AP Ferg and Metro Boomin led to his inclusion in the legendary Freshman XXL 2016 list. The edition, considered by many to be the best, ended with the iconic cypher featuring Uzi, which today has a record 200 million views on YouTube. 2 days after the cypher, the music video for the single “Money Longer” from the already released album “Lil Uzi vs The World” premiered.

However, this is not the end of the success that 2016 has brought for Uzi. After a well-received album and an iconic performance on Freshman, the rapper was featured on one of the biggest hits of the time, Migos’ ‘Bad & Boujee’, which went to number one on the Billboard list.

In 2017, Uzi went on a world tour with The Weekend as his opening act. It was during this time that the song “XO Tour Life” was premiered, which was a breakthrough for Lil Uzi Vert. It remains his most listened to track to date, and was awarded a diamond disc. The viral single also received a music video directed by the late Virgil Abloh a few months after its premiere.

The 25th of August 2017 was a big day for Uzi fans, as not only his album Luv is Rage 2 premiered, but also A$AP Mobu’s Cozy Tapes 2 featuring Vert.

In the following years, Uzi regularly released hit singles such as “New Patek”, “Watch” featuring Travis Scott and Kanye West and finally “Futsal Shuffle 2020”, which debuted at number 5 on the Billboard, beating the result of “XO Tour Life” (7th place).

In 2019, Uzi’s fans froze in fear when the rapper announced his departure from music. The artist’s silence lasted until the following year, when the single “That Way” and the album “Eternal Atake” were released. The roll-out of the album was very much in Uzi’s style, who else could afford to release an album without any promotion or announcement, and even his label did not know the release date until the last minute.

In the same year, Future and Uzi’s friendship led to the release of the album “Pluto x Baby Pluto”, featuring the classic “Drankin N Smokin”.

Last year, Uzi released one of his biggest hits, the viral “Just Wanna Rock” over a jersey beat that took TikTok and clubs around the world by storm.

Following his brilliant performance at Rolling Loud in Los Angeles, Uzi has announced that the final touches are being put to the ‘PINK TAPE’ album and that the premiere will take place soon.
