Gdańsk Baltic Hub Enlarged

New container terminal T3 is constructed in the Baltic Hub (DCT Gdańsk) by a consortium of Budimex (Poland) and Deme Dredging (Belgium) to become the biggest deep container terminal on the Baltic Sea with over 20 automated gantries and 20 harbour cranes. 40 ha of T3 artificial isle “enlarging” the territory of Poland has been completed for a pier 717 m long and 18 m deep, increasing the Baltic Hub’s loading capacity from 3 to 4.5 million TEU. After T3 launching the Baltic Hub will become one of the biggest terminals in Europe capable of handling the world largest ships. Baltic Hub has been operating since 2007 for ships up to 425 m long in T1 (625 m) and T2 (570 m). Construction of T3 started in 2022. Environmental protection in the construction process is ensured by top technologies to monitor noise levels on land and under water and to deter animals.
