CD PROJEKT has decided to invest in a modern office building to be constructed by Skanska.
The CD PROJEKT Group operates in the global, dynamically developing video games industry. The CD PROJEKT RED studio within the Group develops and publishes video games for personal computers and latest generation consoles. The studio is known around the world for The Witcher series of games, the studio’s flagship brand, GWENT: The Witcher Card Game, and Cyberpunk 2077. Digital distribution of games on a global scale is carried out by GOG.COM. This activity consists in the sale and delivery of games directly to the player’s computer using its own GOG.COM platform and the GOG Galaxy application.
The company’s Warsaw office has been based in the Praga district on post-industrial premises for years. Now the company has decided to invest in a modern office building to be constructed by Skanska. Work will start in April and be completed in the first quarter of 2025.
Changing the face of Warsaw’s Praga
The new building on the campus of the CD PROJEKT group, which will be built by Skanska, will be a six-storey, modern office building with an underground part intended as a parking lot. The building will be distinguished by its wooden terraces, greenery on the facades and a recreation area on the roof, on the 6,000 sqm of modern solutions in the field of ventilation and air-conditioning as well as water and sewage systems. The walls of the building will be covered with vegetation and vines, which will be watered with retained rainwater.
“The building will be built in a composite reinforced concrete and steel structure with a wooden terrace truss attached to the façade. The storeys of the office will be devoid of internal columns and load-bearing walls. Green balconies will be built along the façade,” says Maciej Kułakowski, Skanska Project Manager.
Environmentally friendly solutions
The six-storey building is characterized by a simple cuboid form. A characteristic feature of the project will be the greenery used – along the glass facades of the building will be decorated with green terraces made of a wooden structure, available to office employees. Spacious and sliding windows will provide plenty of daylight. The balconies will be recessed into the façade, which will prevent too much sunlight and overheating of the interior. A zone for rest and recreation will be created on the roof of the building.
