The Korea-Poland Forum was held during the Krynica Forum 2023. The event was opened by Andrzej Duda, President of Poland, and Han Duck-soo, Prime Minister of the Republic of Korea. The event was also attended by Jacek Sasin, Minister of State Assets, and Wojciech Dabrowski, President of the Management Board of PGE Polska Grupa Energetyczna.

Dąbrowski, and Jakub Rybicki, President of the Management Board of PGE PAK Energetyka Jądrowa, met with representatives of the Korean company KHNP, headed by CEO Jooho Whang. The talks concerned negotiations over the feasibility study contract and the next stages of the nuclear power plant construction project. The Korean side announced that it is opening an office in Warsaw to coordinate the project from the KHNP side.

Energy cooperation, and in particular the construction of a nuclear power plant by PGE Polska Grupa Energetyczna with its Polish partner ZE PAK and the Korean KHNP, was also the theme of one of the panels of the Korea-Poland Forum.

The foreword to the discussion was given by Minister Sasin, who emphasized the role of nuclear energy in building Poland’s energy security and the involvement in this process of Wojciech Dabrowski and the PGE Group, led by him, which is currently implementing Polish-Korean investment in the Konin region.
