Orlen’s New LNG Carriers

New LNG gas carriers “Józef Piłsudski” and “Ignacy Paderewski” owned by ORLEN group will start service in 2025 increasing the group’s LNG fleet to six ships.  Construction of both carriers in Hyundai Samho Heavy Industries shipyard is on schedule and expected to end in first half of 2025. Like the group’s previous carriers, “Lech Kaczyński”, “Grażyna Gęsicka”, “Saint Barbara” and “Ignacy Łukasiewicz”, the new ones will carry about 70,000 tons LNG and their size will enable them to enter almost all terminals in the world. Their technology is environmental-friendly i.a. with integrated power management and reliquefication system. Like the four present Orlen’s ships they will be operated under a long-term charter agreement with Knutsen OAS Shipping for free-on-board (FOB) contracts. In 2023 Orlen received 62 LNG loads at total of 4.66 million tons ensuring its independence in global market.
