Terra Electrorecycling, part of the Elemental Group, has opened a modern e-waste processing plants in Poland in Grodzisk Mazowiecki. The new installation will enable the processing of 100 refrigerators per hour, regardless of the type of refrigerant used in the construction of the device. The older technology allowed for the processing of 60 freon or 30 pentane refrigerators within 60 minutes. Refrigeration equipment will be mechanically shredded, remaining electronic waste will be dismantled manually. The target capacity of the new plant will be 70,000 tons of waste electrical and electronic equipment per year, of which refrigerators will constitute 20,000 tons. The installation contractor is the German company URT.
