Poland a yachting powerhouse? It’s time to say it plainly

Poland not only builds yachts at a world-class level. Increasingly, it also operates at a world-class level in their sales, chartering, and management.

For many people this may come as a surprise, but Poland is now among the world’s absolute top yacht-producing countries. And it’s not just about smaller recreational craft. We’re also talking about the superyacht segment the most demanding and prestigious one.

According to the Boat International Global Order Book 2026 report,
covering yachts 24 m in length and above, Poland ranks 9th in the world. The list includes 24 projects with a total length of 753 m and an average length of 31.4 m.

For years, the rankings have been led by Italians with groups such as Azimut–Benetti, Sanlorenzo, Ferretti Group, and The Italian Sea Group. Second place goes to fast-growing Turkey, and third to the Netherlands, known for fully custom 80–120 m+ builds at shipyards such as Feadship and Oceanco. This is the segment that defines the global
superyacht market. Poland is part of it.

What’s more, it’s not only production scale that is changing. Poland’s role is also slowly shifting from an industrial back office to a full-fledged participant in the global premium market.

24 m and up – Poland’s footprint in the superyacht world
The Global Order Book includes only vessels at least 24 m (80 ft) long that are under construction or on order. This is the industry’s most technologically advanced and capital-intensive segment.

Within this group, the strongest position is being built by Sunreef Yachts a shipyard that has produced in Gdańsk for years and, more recently, also in the United Arab Emirates. In the latest ranking, it was classified as the 6th largest shipyard in the world by total length of units under construction.

Sunreef is now a global leader in the segment of luxury power and sailing catamarans exceeding 24 m in length. Another well-known brand ambassador has recently become Robert Lewandowski, ordering his 80 Sunreef Power from the NEXT line. This project reflects both the scale and the international nature of this production. For years, the shipyard has been promoted by athletes such as Rafael Nadal, Fernando Alonso, and Nico Rosberg.

The second key pillar of the 24 m+ segment is Conrad Shipyard from
Gdańsk a boutique shipyard delivering projects from 24 m upward. It was Conrad that produced the largest motor yacht built in Poland to date the 44-meter ACE (2022). It was followed by further hulls in the same series: Extra Time (2024) and Moonlight (2025). These projects confirm that Poland is now delivering units whose scale and quality are comparable to renowned Italian or Dutch shipyards.

Against this backdrop, Poland is no longer a niche market. It is a real producer of premium-class units and superyachts.

The 12–24 m segment – strong position and global recognition
Between the superyacht world (24 m+) and the production of smaller units lies the extremely important 12–24 m segment. This is the space of large motor yachts and luxury private catamarans, increasingly chosen by informed owners.

One player in this segment is Galeon Yachts, a brand well known in Poland that has for years successfully built its position, including in the United States. Galeon’s largest models are approaching the 24 m threshold, offering solutions known from bigger units while maintaining serial production and a very high finishing standard.

An equally interesting example is Moon Yachts a Polish family shipyard building luxury catamarans around 18–20 m in length. Since launching its first catamaran in 2021, the brand has steadily built its position in the premium segment, responding to growing interest in private catamarans with a modern, distinctly luxurious character.
Wave catamarans also stand out, combining modern design with compelling technological solutions. This segment shows that Polish shipyards can combine production scale with design and aesthetic ambition.

Up to 12 m – Europe’s production powerhouse
Even more impressive is the situation in the segment of motor yachts up to 12 m long. According to data from the Polish Investment and Trade Agency (PAIH) and the Polish Chamber of Yacht Industry and Water Sports (POLBOAT), Poland ranks 2nd in the world in the production of recreational vessels. The United States remains the leader, but in Europe it is Poland that is the largest production hub. It is estimated that 90–95% of output goes to export, often under foreign brands, without the end customer realizing the unit was built in Poland.

In Poland, models are built for brands such as Beneteau, Jeanneau, Sea Ray, Nimbus, Axopar, and Windy. This is the result of many years of experience in composite construction, a strong woodworking base, skilled staff, and very good production organization.

At the same time, the importance of domestic brands is growing. Parker Poland, Delphia Yachts, Galeon, Virtue Yachts, Cobrey, Northman, and Balt-Yacht some present on the market for many years, others developing rapidly in recent seasons—are now building their own identity and international recognition.

An interesting example of this evolution is a shipyard from Augustów which for years produced hulls and complete units for international brands and today is developing its own brand, WISZNIEWSKI YACHT. The premiere of the latest W29 model under this brand at Boot Düsseldorf confirmed rising ambitions and the consistent building of its own market position.

Polish shipyards today have greater ambitions and increasingly deliver them under their own name.

Poles not only produce; increasingly, they are owners

The market is maturing, offering not only world-class production but also comprehensive ownership solutions: from purchase, through management, to international charter distribution.
