Polish songs by Aga Zaryan

Polish jazz singer Aga Zaryan will give an unusual performance at Szczecin Philharmonic, showing a completely new side of her artistic expression. The repertoire will include not only songs by her favorite Polish jazz composers, but also those unrelated to jazz, which are important to her for personal reasons. The audience will travel decades back to hear the artist’s re-interpretation of the Polish pop melodies of the time – all in new arrangements by the pianist and composer Michał Tokaj. Some of the performed songs permanently imprinted on the Polish culture and the history of Poland, among others Maanam “Kocham Cię, kochanie moje”, “La valse du mal” sang by Kalina Jędrusik with lyrics by Wojciech Młynarski and music by Jerzy Matuszkiewicz or “Before sunrise” by Krzysztof Komeda with lyrics by Agnieszka Osiecka. This sentimental concert with a few unexpected musical twists will take place at the Szczecin Philharmonic on February 12.
