Selena Group is investing in the development of photovoltaics on large-area roofs. The Polish leader in the construction chemicals industry is expanding its proposition for business customers and offers complete roofing solutions, including waterproofing and photovoltaic installations for roofs. The entire roofing solution comes with a 15-year warranty.
Selena Group has for many year been consistently marketing products that increase the energy efficiency of buildings and improve the comfort of their use. The complete roofing service called “Selena Energy” will include the existing solutions of Selena Group, such as roofing membranes and shingles, COOL-R® coatings (which helps reduce air-conditioning expenses in building by up to 50%), and thermal insulation products together with new services such as photovoltaic installations and roof fall protection. All modernization works on roofs will be managed by a team of a dedicated, newly founded company: Selena ESG (as part of the construction management service).
Selena ESG will implement its solutions in the business sector, focusing on large-scale industrial and logistics roofs. The new company’s offer includes performing a roof audit, a detailed modernization design – particularly design of a complete photovoltaic installation, including reinforcement of the facility’s structure (if necessary) – and a package of waterproofing and roof fall protection solutions.
“Industrial customers have a growing need to reduce energy costs and switch to renewable energy. The photovoltaic market in Poland is increasing by approx. 200% year-on-year. We see huge potential in the development of roofing for large-scale industrial, logistic, food processing, commercial and, recently, also residential buildings. Selena’s ‘complete roofing’ offer provides the market with an efficient solution that can both address the problem of leaky roofs and provide an installation tailored to the building’s energy profile and roof design”, says Roman M. Meysner, President of the Management Board and General Manager of Selena ESG. “In addition to the crucial financial aspect, such projects have an environmental side to them.
The decision to grow in the new market segment was a natural step in the development of Selena Group, the company believes. Complete roofs with photovoltaics will complement its current product range. and the new company’s services respond to the needs of firms faced with rising energy prices by creating the potential to cut costs by means of green energy.
“For years now, many European and Polish companies have been introducing various massive innovations to reduce CO2 emissions and to increase energy efficiency. Thanks to the use of existing resources and experience, we have already seen the first successful projects completed by Selena ESG in Poland, with more and more inquiries coming from abroad,” says Krzysztof Domarecki, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Selena ESG and the main shareholder of Selena Group.
Selena ESG has a qualified team of specialists in roof construction and installation as well as support from Selena Group structures, which adds to its capability to carry out projects throughout the country, in any region and on any scale. The combination of waterproofing, thermal insulation and photovoltaic solutions, backed by an energy and construction audit as well as expert advice on the selection of products and systems, are the features that make Selena ESG’s offering stand out in the market, the company says. The company will manage all work related to the Selena Energy complete roofing. The system solutions will be protected by a warranty.
The Group has for years now been marketing products that increase the energy efficiency of buildings and improve the comfort of their use, including Tytan WINS, a standard for window insulation and sealing, based on liquid foil, reducing energy consumption by up to 30%. Selena Group is also a member of the Polish Green Building Council (PLGBC), which brings together leaders of the industry. And in 2021, it was awarded as Green Champion in the Polityka Insight national championship ranking.
